Ingredients :
- 1 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup honey
- 3/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Preparations Method :
- In a large bowl, beat the shortening until light and fluffy.
- Add the honey and syrup, a little at a time.
- Beat well after each addition.
- Add the eggs, one at a time.
- Beat well after each addition.
- The mixture will appear curdled.
- Beat in the vanilla.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, and the salt.
- Gradually add to the honey mixture.
- Mix until moistened.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and pecans.
- Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets.
- Bake at 350 F for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove to wire racks.
Makes 5 dozen cookies
